I'd like some tips for light, natural, quick eye makeup for Asian women with completely creaseless single eyelids. I don't know if you've ever seen one of these difficult-to-make-up things, but it's like a thick fold of skin that hangs over and completely covers the edge of the upper eyelid including the eyelashes. Many makeup experts recommend wearing only mascara on the eyes for a fresh, natural, barely-there look, but if I wear mascara alone you can't even see it, all the eyelashes are covered up by that thick fold of skin! And if I don't use eye makeup I look like those TV monsters that don't have eyes, just a blank space of empty skin where the eyes are supposed to be! I don't have much time to mess with a lot of makeup so I'd like to know what sort of makeup is absolutely essential (and quick) for someone like me. Thank you!

I too have thick lids that hang over the crease so my eyes are virtually creaseless. To make matters worse my eyes also droop and they make me look like I am about to fall asleep all the time. Any eyeshadow applied between the lashes and the crease will disappear once I open my eyes. None of the western eye make up will help.

For this type of eyes, eyelash curler, mascara and eye liners are a must. (You'll need a really good eyelash curler too. They say that Shiseido makes the best kinds for asian eyes. I haven't tried.) Fake eyelashes also help (but for me they were too much trouble to put on). Beyond that use eyeshadows of at least two shades in the same color and create an illusion of depth by starting from the darker color (close the lashes) and lighter color (close to the brow). I picked up this tip from the article below and it works like a gem.

However, I skipped putting eyeliners or mascara on the lower lids. They tend to get smudged (possibly due to the short lower lashes and the drooping upper eyelids).

The style which is suiting the person should be brought into practice if wants to change.
thanks and be cautious about the effect of change.

Apply eyeliner to the upper eyelid. For creaseless eyelids, it may actually be easier to start with the outer corner and finish in the inner corner. Keep the line thin, tight to the lash line, and extend just a little bit beyond the outer edge of the eye in a subtle "tail." You can also line the outer third of the lower lid for a more dramatic look, but in general it isn't necessary with creaseless eyelids and, in fact, can make the eyes look smaller. :jumps: :jumps: :jumps:
