I have been friends with this guy for about a year now & Ive grown to love him. Hes leaving for Iraq next week & hes a pointman so Im really scared. I lost my boyfriend over this guy & I dont know what to do. I have such strong feelings for him & I would like to be with him now but I know hes going to be gone for 7 months but then again thats IF he comes home. He said if I find someone I like, not to pass up that opportunity, but hed like me to wait if I am willing. I am very willing, Hes who I want. I love him & I dont know what to do. I need a little advise....

My "boyfriend" told me almost the exact same thing. And I choose to wait for him. I havent regretted it yet. Since then I broke down and told him I love him ( something we both wanted to do in person " should we have those feelings" ) Its not easy and lots of times having someone close to hold and talk to when I need to would be really nice, but I wouldnt give him up for anything. If you Really Love your Guy wait on him, Support him. Just my advice. Good luck, either way its not going to be easy youve got someone to listen if you need/want to talk .

I say it takes a strong and very different woman to love a military man. If you are willing which it seems you are stay with him let him know how you feel. I waited until my soldier was deployed also to tell him how I felt and wish I had done it much sooner. Military wives, girlfriends, and fiancees are strong unique people and I think you heart will tell you what is right for you.
