You could have just been a dad

It’s not like you were far away

I guess I would have just got in your way

Now you said you’ve changed

I’ve heard that before

I can see it all now

You’ll get here

Stay for a little while

Then be right back out the door

The first few times you said it

I hoped it was true

Why should I believe you again
